With profound sadness, the Austin High School Alumni Association mourns the tragic and senseless loss of our fellow Panther, Christopher Brandon Steven, Class of 2012.

Christopher was a proud graduate of Austin High School, a devoted United States Marine, and someone who carried the values of service, loyalty, and dedication throughout his life. His commitment to his country and the pride he took in being an Austin Panther left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

In July 2026, while visiting family, Christopher’s life was tragically taken far too soon. Although his time with us was cut short, his legacy of courage, honor, and love for his family, friends, and community will continue to inspire others.

To ensure that Christopher’s memory lives on in a meaningful way, the Austin High School Alumni Association, together with his family, is establishing the Christopher Brandon Steven Memorial Scholarship Endowment. This scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduating Austin High School senior selected by Christopher’s family—recognizing a student who embodies the character, perseverance, and spirit that Christopher exemplified.

We invite our alumni, friends, and community members to honor Christopher’s life by making a contribution to this lasting tribute. Every donation, regardless of size, brings us one step closer to creating an enduring legacy that will help future Panthers pursue their dreams.
